I was scrolling through comments on the multihoster list page and saw some comments that brought up a question that I thought deserved a post of its own. Specifically, why do multihoster / debrid / leech / link-generator services limit downloads on some hosters. I’ve seen this on other sites as well, people who don’t understand what multihoster services are, how they work, or what really should be expected of them. Continue reading
I’ve been using multihoster services since late 2011. It’s almost 2019, so a solid 7 years so far. I’ve also been researching them and writing about them for nearly as long. Over the years, I’ve seen variations of this comment pop up far too frequently in forums, on other blogs and even comments on my site:
There are quite a few different ways you can download files. Obviously, this site has a pro-premium account focus with a special push towards using multihoster services like Linksnappy, but there are other options. It wasn’t that long ago, really, when I hadn’t yet purchased my first premium account (from Hotfile or Fileserve I think) and I relied heavily on the increasingly-risky bittorrent downloads and free downloads from filehosting sites. There was a time when I knew about premium accounts and yet was not ready or willing to pay for premium services to download files faster.
Keep2Share (k2s.cc) is a popular filehosting site. This filehoster stores a bunch of different types of files from video to audio to software, games and more. The thing is though, if you want to download a lot of files from Keep2Share, you’re going to need a premium account. Which, a Keep2Share premium account is great if you only want to download from Keep2Share as a premium member, but not necessarily the best option if you also want to download from other filehosting sites with high speed.
“Do you need to have a high-speed internet connection to use multihoster services?”
